The purpose of the Area Operations Manager position is to provide excellent operational oversight and manage business performance of multiple veterinary hospitals within their assigned market. The area operations manager will drive revenue and manage costs while ensuring our Petco full-service Vetco Total Care provide excellent patient care and client service. The Area Operations Manager is responsible, like all team members, for fostering cohesion and motivation within the team, and driving successful business outcomes.

Essential Job Functions

Manage operational oversight of multiple hospitals within assigned marketManage overall business development, performance, and revenueEnsure adherence to hospital budgetsProvide excellent client service and follow up and resolve any concernsOversee payroll approval process for hospitals including relief staffPartner with Petco Veterinary Services to relay and implement new initiatives and training to hospital partnersPartner with the Lead Veterinarian Technicians to manage appropriate product inventory and perform periodic auditing for hospital locationsSupport talent development of the Lead Veterinarian Technicians, Veterinarian Technicians and Concierges during the review process including creation of individual development plans

Education/Experience

Completed Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related fieldMust have at least 3 years previous experience working in hospital management-type role within the veterinary or human medical fieldMust have ability to travel locally within assigned market (approx. 50%)Must have excellent written and verbal communication skillsMust have excellent telephone and computer skillsMust be a team player willing to learn, offer creative ideas, and accept changePreferred: Experience managing multiple sites
