Description
Our operations help everything to come together at Amazon. As the Operations Manager in a fast-paced and challenging environment, you’ll be the person who knows your area of the business inside out. You’ll own the operational metrics and set the strategy for your area of the business to deliver for our customers and ultimately grow our operations. You’ll also develop a large team and coach and mentor team leaders.
Key job responsibilities
Monitor operational metrics and business performance
Contribute to executing the operational planning, considering everything from volume and labour planning
Protect high standards of operational Health and Safety
Be accountable for operational leadership by measuring performance, offering feedback, and providing development support to your team members
A day in the life
You’ll be based at one of our operational sites.
Spending lots of time on site will help you develop your own team and collaborate on operational execution. You’ll manage and motivate a team of associates and supervisors. At the same time, you’ll focus on daily objectives. This might include creating contingency plans to keep operations running and mitigate against disruptions and driving initiatives that boost quality, safety and productivity. You’ll be a source of accountability and a business-wide champion of best practice.
About the team
Amazon couldn’t deliver at pace without the Amazon Transportation Service (ATS) team. As part of ATS, you’ll be welcomed into a diverse team that plays a central role in our success. Using air, sea and road transport, as well as sortation centres equipped with the latest technology, you’ll help Amazon’s transport run at maximum efficiency. Our team captures data and uses it to drive decisions. They are key to making Amazon more innovative and efficient.

Basic Qualifications
A degree
Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and upper intermediate proficiency in the local language
Preferred Qualifications
Desired previous experience in manufacturing, production, distribution logistics environments, retail, or grocery
Desired past experience of working within a complex stakeholder structure
