Area Manager Food and Beverage - Downtown Seattle
Job Description Area Managers lead Restaurant General Managers and Specialty Coffee Bar Managers to deliver business results through consistent execution of Nordstrom Restaurant Group’s priorities. They role model Nordstrom Values, build strong cross-functional partnerships at the store and regional levels, and create a culture of accountability, inclusion, and trust. They support their leaders through regular coaching, clear performance expectations, timely performance conversations, and are responsible for developing future talent. Area Managers partner with the store’s HRBPs to investigate, support, and follow up with all employee relations issues that occur within Restaurants and Coffee Bars. Area Managers are responsible for ensuring all locations maintain a food-safe environment where employees and customers feel comfortable and welcomed. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Serves as the primary leader for restaurants and specialty coffee bars in their assigned geography • Role models and is the gate keeper of upholding Nordstrom Values throughout their assigned geography • Uses Nordstrom Values as the filter in making key decisions, while using good judgement • Develops and maintains a high-performing management team that consistently delivers results • Develops internal pipeline of talent for leadership roles • Actively supports restaurant and specialty coffee bar leaders in creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for their employees, where all employees feel seen, heard and welcomed • Consistently assesses and supports restaurant and specialty coffee bar leaders in maintaining a food-safe and pest free environment • Supports restaurant and specialty coffee bar leaders in creating an environment where both our internal and external customers are welcomed • Provides timely and consistent performance conversations, providing accountability as appropriate to all restaurant general managers and specialty coffee bar managers • Is directly accountable for the restaurants and specialty coffee bars, profit and loss statements in their assigned geography • Analyze KPIs for assigned portfolio and actively support restaurant and specialty coffee bar leaders in creating action plans to move their business forward • Supports restaurant and specialty coffee bar leaders to consistently execute the restaurant group priorities, and to meet or exceed financial plans and goals • Builds and maintains effective relationships with store and region level business partners • Work collaboratively with all cross-functional teams at Nordstrom to support restaurant and specialty coffee operations, including but not limited to HR, marketing, events, visual, construction, facilities • Partners with HR team to investigate and resolve employee relations issues • Plans time and travel effectively, 3-4 days weekly, to have intentional and purposeful visits that supports restaurant and specialty coffee bar leaders' shoulder-to-shoulder • Offices from assigned home store location • Collaborate with Nordstrom culinary and specialty coffee teams to execute restaurant and specialty coffee bar strategy CORE COMPETENCIES: • Customer Focus: Builds strong customer relationships and delivers customer-centric solutions. • Drives Results: Persists in accomplishing objectives, even under tough circumstances. QUALIFICATIONS: • Skilled leader and coach with progressive management responsibilities with F&B and multi-unit operations • Ability to model strong communication and influencing skills • Experience with employee relations issues and partnering with HR in investigations and resolutions • Ability to analyze financial outcomes and other KPIs to identify opportunities and build effective action plans • 5+ years' experience in multiple F&B operations as a culinary or management leader • Experienced and skilled in Microsoft Office suite We’ve got you covered… Our employees are our most important asset and that’s reflected in our benefits. Pay Range Details The pay range(s) below has been provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different for other locations. Pay offers are dependent on the location, as well as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. $92,500.00 - $153,000.00 Annual This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses.
