Area Manager Central America & Caribbean

Primary purpose is to manage the Brown-Forman business in Central America serving as the Area Manager with responsibility for P&L, volume, financial goals, managing an A&P and discounts budget, distributor management, sales & merchandising. Emphasis on the direction for all Brown-Forman activities in these markets, route to market management, coordination of distributor activities, sales and marketing management, brand development, market penetration and new business development.


Position based in Panama.

Travel approximately 30%- 35%.


Manage and lead 6 markets and 10 distributors. Position would manage over $12 million in Gross Sales, $500k of Brand Expense and deliver over $5 million in Brand Profit.

Job Responsibilities:

Specific Responsibilities are:

In collaboration with CARCAM Territory Manager and CARCAM Marketing Manager and partnership with distributor leadership, develops and agrees on annual brand and portfolio strategies within each market.
Leads the development and communication of yearly commercial plans in collaboration with the corresponding distributor partners’ resources.
Establishes effective relationships with distributor partners across the region to gain distributor share of mind while building trust-based partnerships and shared accountability to drive performance of BF brands.
Evaluates and, where appropriate, builds and advocates for incremental investment to capitalize on current and future opportunities in the markets.
Responsible for excellent execution and ongoing evaluation of our distributor partners’ commercial activities, ensuring that we are winning at the point of purchase.
Develop and implement ongoing processes to track market performance such as distribution, sell out / takeaway, trade inventory levels, pricing execution, promotional activity execution, etc. and work with distributors to optimize performance against those metrics.
This role partners and influences BF supporting functions, including Marketing, Finance, Legal, Credit, Operations, Customer Service, market registration, etc.
In partnership with CARCAM Territory Manager and CARCAM Marketing Manager builds the annual A&P budget. Responsible for deployment, tracking and reporting of A&P spend in line with annual plan throughout the year.
Ensures distributor execution of brand building activities is consistent with global and regional brand plans.
Responsible for excellent execution and ongoing evaluation of our distributor partners’ commercial activities, ensuring that we are winning at the point of purchase.
Collaborates with LAC Finance team in forecasting business, price structures, analytics and other investment management to maximize our revenue and overall financial performance.
Ensure BF and our distributor partners are operating consistent with BF`s values and compliance policies, with BF`s values at the center of everything we do.
Develop ongoing mutually beneficial relationships with key customers across the region.
Lead the development of the commercial function across the area.
Provide support for distributor B-F Brand managers.
Ensure all distributor and third-party agreements across the region are optimized for BF performance, up to date and supported by all appropriate compliance documentation.

 

Required Experience & Education:

Education: College/University (Bachelors or Equivalent); •  Bachelor’s degree in business plus 5 or more years of Commercial and Marketing experience
