Overview:
Responsibilities:Ensure the safety of the property including attractions, and compliance with all applicable federal, state, local and company codes, standards, and procedures including, but not limited to; ADA, ASTM International, Department of Labor, OSHA, as well as manufacturers, and internal safety procedures, by planning, coordinating, and supervising daily operations.Required to successfully implement IROC program, including training requirements, operating procedures, and successful achieving a high pass audit result consistentlyComplete, maintain, verify, and retain required documentation, ensuring all is up-to-date and accurate, including daily ride inspections, audits, operating checklists, training documentation, etc.Manage associate development and performance utilizing coaching, positive reinforcement, recognition programs, and progressive discipline. Sets priorities, expectations and monitors assignments within department. Respond to in-park situations and attraction down time; observe and report park conditions to Maintenance as necessary for resolution, communicate trends and recommendations to resolve/mitigateWork closely with the Maintenance Department to maximize attraction safety, uptime, and throughput; Communicates maintenance needs and other functions with supporting departments as necessaryManage the Park Services department with regard to cleanliness, sanitation, and park appearancePartner with Human Resources to ensure divisions are well-staffed and properly trained. Responsible for establishing hiring targets and communicating staffing needs to Human ResourcesEncourages and ensures a safe and pleasant work environment for all associates. Accountable for all operational locations operating safely and efficiently as well as providing guest service standards through effective planning, execution and communication.Routinely perform as Rides on Duty & Park Manager on Duty, maintaining a constant presence in the parkEstablishes, maintains, and improves operational procedures and policiesMaintain control over expenditures and labor budget. Prepare, receive, and/or review various records including projections, attendance reports, new ride manuals, maintenance reports, operations reports, safety reports, staffing reports, status reports, purchase orders, etc.Adheres to and enforces all Six Flags and specific park policies and procedures, including safety, attendance and EEO policies. Demonstrates commitment to customer service in all aspects of employmentWorks closely with the Business Intelligence department to support park execution in regard to scheduling, time, and attendance requirements in accordance with scope of position expectations
Qualifications:Associate degree required / bachelor’s degree preferred4+ years of theme amusement park or sports venue experience requiredMinimum of 3 years supervisory experience. Leadership experience in ride operations and park services preferredIROC and Trainer Certification required, or the ability to obtain, immediately upon hireExhibits a positive and involved team attitude to all and promotes positive relations through an environment that encourages open communication, trust, and mutual respectMust be familiar with safety standards, policies, and procedures along with excellent analytical and planning skillsProficient in Microsoft Office SuiteDriver’s license requiredAbility to make sound decisions during stressful situations and park emergencies.Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with park associates, internal and external customers and vendors. Ability to climb to and work at a height of 200+feet in the event of a ride shutdown or emergency.

Shift/Schedule Requirements: Ability to work various shifts and days including weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom has an immediate opening for the position for the Area Manager of Operations. This position is responsible for managing the Ride Operations and the Park Services departments. The Area Manager of Operations will ensure the safe and efficient operation of attractions and maintain overall park cleanliness, helping to ensure overall park guest satisfaction. Supervises and reviews the work of seasonal leadership staff, develops a high-performance team, and maintains labor and budget targets.
