Area Field Production Operations Specialist  

This member of the Regional Field Production Mission team, serves a multifaceted role encompassing various operational responsibilities within production agriculture. Supports optimizing field production processes, ensuring seamless execution of missions, and enabling overall mission team efficiency through Operational Discipline and Excellence. Dailly tasks will vary with objectives to enhance operational excellence, aligning with the company’s Commercial and Pre-Commercial production goals and customer expectations. Span of influence is across multiple crops and/or multiple production stages (Commercial, PCM, FND). 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

   

Mission Success:  

Collaborate with Field Production Missions to plan and coordinate operational activities and alignment to operate within field P&L.  

Provide support for all crops within the field production region.  

Ensure the timely and efficient execution of Commercial production plans, aligning with mission objectives.  

Ensure execution of Pre-Commercial and Foundation Crop plans to meet advancement targets.  

Provides strategic insights for Parent Seed needs and positioning for current year as well as future years  

Execute strategy through operational leadership by connecting with various networks around pipeline planning targets for current and future technologies.  

Resourcing:  

Optimize resource allocation for field production, including personnel, equipment, and materials.  

Work closely with the team to identify resource needs and facilitate procurement.  

Operational Efficiency:  

Streamline field production processes to enhance overall efficiency though Operational Disciple.  

Implement continuous improvement initiatives to address operational challenges and bottlenecks.  

Interact with Production Research to collaborate around Field Optimization Production Strategies  

Responsible for ensuring all production meets export needs and Tolling agreements with attention to certification/phytosanitary requirements.  

Quality Assurance:  

Champion quality control measures in field processes, ensuring adherence to quality standards.  

Collaborate with relevant teams to address and resolve any quality-related issues.  

Data Analysis and Reporting:  

Analyze operational data to track performance and identify areas for improvement.  

Collaborate with team to analyze reports on key operational metrics across the region to ensure data timeliness and integrity.  

Responsible for timely field data collection and integrity.  

Participate in design and enhancements of Field Digital Tools  

Cross-Functional Collaboration:  

Work closely with Field Production Agronomists and enablement missions to align production strategies with agronomic goals.  

Collaborated with Safety and Regulated/Steward Compliance teams to ensure operational compliance with safety and regulatory standards.  

Serve on various Task Forces within region or across region/crops and engaged in co-creation of field production processes.  

Integrated Financial Operations:  

Support end-to-end financial processes related to field production, including grower accounting, accounts payable, and invoice processing.  

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial transactions.  

Enable quality control measures and compliance within financial operations. 

 

WHO YOU ARE 

  

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: 

  

Required Qualifications: 

Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Business, Operations Management, or a related field and a minimum of 5 years of applicable experience Or High School Diploma or equivalent with 10 years of applicable experience 

Valid Driver's License to drive a company-issued vehicle 

Effective communication and collaboration skills. 

Ability to work during days, weekends and overtime as business needs require  

Ability to lift a minimum of 60 lbs. (a bag of seed)  

25% travel expected during peak season  

  

Preferred Qualifications: 

Proven experience in agricultural operations, production planning, or related roles.  

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.  

Excellent organizational and project management abilities.  

Adaptable and able to thrive in a dynamic and varied operational environment.  

Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and efficiency.  

Team player with a collaborative mindset.  

Commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement. 

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $95,240.00 - $142,860.00.  Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive compensation (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
