TRS Staffing Solutions has exciting opportunities for an Area Construction Manager role to work for one of Canada's top employers and a global leader in the Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management industry.
Responsibilities:
Lead all on-site construction operations, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications, project timelines, and budgetary targets. Direct and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including contractors, subcontractors, and internal personnel across engineering, procurement, and construction. Drive productivity and performance through proactive planning, resource optimization, and continuous improvement. Foster a strong safety culture by integrating safety practices into all aspects of field execution and ensuring team-wide accountability. Oversee early site development including infrastructure setup, fleet mobilization, and logistics planning. Collaborate with engineering and procurement teams to ensure seamless transition from design to field execution. Monitor and report on progress, risks, and mitigation strategies to senior leadership. Perform additional tasks as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related technical field. 20+ years of experience in heavy civil construction, with a strong track record in managing large-scale infrastructure or mining-related projects. Prior experience in South American project environments is a strong asset. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish. Proven leadership in high-altitude environments and remote site execution. Demonstrated expertise in managing large earthmoving fleets and complex logistics operations. Experience with tailings dam construction or similar large-scale earthworks is highly preferred. Strong understanding of project controls, cost management, and construction methodologies.
