Architecture Supervisor

This pivotal, highly visible role sits within our Global Manufacturing Engineering Architecture and Program Delivery department and helps shape future model programs to be leaders in the industry.  The Architecture Team acts on early insights with the Product Development Team to optimize all aspects of new model production.   As leader of a team, you will interact directly with leadership to deliver the following as it relates to the three major Manufacturing functions of Body Construction Engineering, Global Paint Engineering, and Final Assembly Engineering for the manufacturing of Body-On-Frame vehicles.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required 5+ years of manufacturing experience ideally in BoF assembly & knowledge of Unibody vehicles Practical BoF assembly tooling implementation experience  Understanding of SCCAF’s, PFMEA’s and failure mode avoidance principles required Body Structures experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Vehicle launch experience required with Digital Pre-Assembly (DPA5) through Job #1 (MP1) experience on a major program (Ford scale 4 and higher)  Advanced engineering, Architecture/Platform development experience Previous supervisory experience managing engineering team Self-starter with ability to deliver in challenging situations, self-motivated and operate with minimal direct supervision  Proven leadership and project management skills Effective creativity to find solutions to unstructured, uncertain or highly constrained problems Demonstrated Microsoft Office experience includes Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint Experience conducting work in a virtual environment utilizing related tools (TCE, APT, VPS/GSPAS, etc.) Strong verbal and written communication skills to present complicated concepts to an audience with a broad range of experiences

What you'll do:

Lead Design for Assembly into new Body-on-Frame vehicle part development by regularly collaborating with the Product Development team to assess facility & tooling impact, improve quality, and reduce labor requirements during the Technical Kick-Off (TKO) to Technology Management Review (TMR) phase Direct and develop a team to execute a manufacturing point of view on architecture strategy and align with Product Development to execute future product lines at a platform level Initiate and coordinate with Manufacturing Core Teams on the development of the build sequence, installation processes, and tooling strategies for new product launches Quantify manufacturing and facility impact to launch new model programs including directional facility, tooling, and labor impact for all manufacturing functions with varying degrees of available definition Assess existing facility layouts to analyze assembly processes using current plan of records and AutoCAD for planning future work Assess all product designs/concepts for adherence to our Global Manufacturing Requirements and revise and/or generate and document new Manufacturing Requirements as needed Evaluate "Lessons Learned" from New Model launches and implement Prevent Reoccurrence Actions into future programs Evaluate and assess competitive vehicle information i.e. benchmarking relative to manufacturing and processing of end item parts, sub-assemblies, and fastening/joining to determine incorporation on future product and develop next-generation ideas Speak for all Manufacturing functions to collaborate on multi-functional teams of Program Delivery teams, Product Development, Marketing, Program Planning, Supplier Technical Assistance, Material Planning & Logistics, New Model Programs, etc. in early product planning workshops Manage and report out all program status assessment points during TKO to TMR phase Strategize, create and implement organizational structures and methods as required Travel to our North American assembly plants for site reviews as required
