This includes identifying, prioritizing, and communicating work that strengthens our existing products while modernizing our framework solutions to meet evolving company needs. As a data architect, your key relationships will be with the Core Portfolio Architects, Enterprise data engineers, Enterprise data Architects, and ED&A technical leaders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborating with other Enterprise Data architects to understand and support the strategic direction of the enterpriseCollaborating with Enterprise Data & Analytics leadership to provide a high-level, all-inclusive vision of Enterprise Data & Analytics solutions and development initiativesUnderstanding and communicating Strategic Themes, and other key business drivers for data architecture, to technical and nontechnical stakeholders within the Enterprise Data & Analytics group and EnterpriseDriving data architectural initiatives and supporting the backlog grooming processCreating data modeling, design, coding, and influencing the extract, transform and load (ETL) best practicesDeveloping data governance policies and standards across Core Enterprise Data & Analytics and the Enterprise, for example building in data quality and ensuring data semantics are definedCollecting, generating and analyzing innovative ideas and technologies to use across the businessCoach data engineers and identify training opportunitiesCollaborating with data engineers to implement the data architecturePrepare, manage, and coordinate breakdown of enablers for scrum teams.Understand the Data Architecture of all systems and address conflicting or divergent approachesCreate and implement strategies for data framework modernization within the ED&A group and EnterpriseCreate and implement strategies for technology adoption with the ED&A group.This position is on-site and will reside in the greater Seattle, WA. area at one of the following locations depending on availability. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
3+ years of Experience as a Senior Data Engineer or in a Data Architect rolePersonal and professional alignment with Expeditors culture and ten critical success factorsStrong leadership, communication, and execution capabilitiesExperienced problem solver, strong collaborator and able to provide clarity around complex topicsExpertise with Big Data ecosystem services, such as Spark/SparkSQL, Kafka, Apache NiFi, Hadoop/Hive, MongoDB, HBase, and Kafka Streams.Expertise in relational and NoSQL database structure and design Experience with Data & Analytics systems or solutions in the cloud (Azure preferred)Experience with DevSecOps, Lean, Agile and the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)Assertive personality, interpersonal, action and outcome driven leadershipAbility to actively inspire, coach, mentor and motivateAbility to promote autonomy, mastery and purpose, through empowerment and creating leadersAbility to translate business requirements into technical specificationsDESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
BA/BS Computer Science, MIS, or related degree preferredGlobal logistics/Supply chain business knowledgeProven experience as a logistics and technology oriented leaderExperience in a technical role such as systems/data/business analysis, project management, or software development3+ years' experience building scalable data services on top of public cloud infrastructure like Azure, AWS, or GCP. Extensive use datastores like RDBMS, key-value stores, etc. Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersApplicants are required to be eligible to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately; employer will not transfer or sponsor applicants for U.S. work authorization (such as an H-1B visa) for this opportunity.
Additional InformationExpected base salary: $165,000 to $240,000
