Architect

A Cloud Integration Architect, to help drive the modernization of legacy mainframe applications into cloud and hybrid environments (GCP preferred). Ability to design and implement end-to-end integration solutions—leveraging both proven and cutting-edge patterns—to connect legacy systems, SaaS platforms, microservices and event-driven architectures. Ability to work closely with business to shape solution proposals, manage stakeholders, and negotiate technical and commercial decisions.

Must-Have Qualifications

• 8+ years in enterprise integration and application modernization, including mainframe migrations
• Practical experience on Google Cloud Platform (Compute, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, API Gateway, etc.) and hybrid setups
• Deep understanding of traditional integration styles (EDI, MQ, batch, RPC) and modern paradigms (REST, event-driven, streaming, SAGA)
• Strong hands-on skills in integration tools/ESBs—both packaged and open-source—and ability to custom-code solutions when needed
• Solid Java/Spring Boot background; familiarity with GraphQL and gRPC
• Proven track record in consulting: driving solution workshops, stakeholder management and negotiations, achieving sync between business and project teams
• Working knowledge of TOGAF 9.x: able to generate and validate Solution Building Blocks, ADM deliverables and governance artifacts
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

Preferred Skills

• Certifications: GCP Professional Cloud Architect; TOGAF Certified
• Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Cloud Build, GitLab CI)
• Familiarity with service mesh (Istio, Anthos Service Mesh) and API management platforms (Apigee, Kong)
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments and DevOps culture

• Knowledge of Github Copilot and hands-on coding knowledge to execute POCs if required

• Basic understanding of AI and Agentic AI

Key Responsibilities

• Lead application modernization initiatives: assess legacy mainframes, define roadmaps, and orchestrate phased workloads to GCP and hybrid clouds
• Architect integration solutions using tool-driven and code-based approaches (ESBs, API gateways, MQ, CDC, etc.), spanning batch, synchronous, asynchronous, pub/sub and event-driven patterns
• Develop reference architectures, integration blueprints, PoCs and detailed design docs
• Hands-on implementation of integration flows using commercial enterprise tools (e.g. MuleSoft, TIBCO, IBM App Connect) and open-source frameworks (Apache Camel, Spring Integration, Kafka, etc.)
• Collaborate with Java teams to design/polish microservices in Spring Boot, and integrate gRPC or GraphQL APIs where appropriate
• Apply TOGAF principles: produce architecture artifacts (Business Capability Maps, Solution Context Diagrams, Roadmaps, etc.) and govern their lifecycle
• Engage directly with stakeholders: craft solution proposals, lead workshops, present architectures, influence decision-makers and manage expectations
• Coach and mentor junior architects/engineers on integration best practices, cloud patterns and modernization strategies
• Stay current with cloud-native design (serverless, containers, service mesh) and continually refine our methodology
