Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: + Acts as a consultant for the state as it relates to the protection of life and property from the hazards of fire, smoke, explosion, and panic. + Evaluates handicapped accessibility requirements as promulgated by the state legislature. + Evaluates “State Energy Code”. + Reviews construction documents for general compliance with the State Building Code. + Directs the modification of the design of structures, watercraft, and movables to ensure that the facilities achieve and can maintain a minimum acceptable level of life safety and accessibility. + Analyzes and calculates occupant loads of individual buildings based on square footage to verify the adequacy of fire protection systems. + Indirectly supervises, consults, advises, and trains lower-level architects on issues of design and architecture.
