The Applications Development Technology Lead is a senior level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities:

Partner with multiple management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals as well as identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvementsResolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standardsProvide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprintUtilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementationDevelop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goalsProvide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutionsServe as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessaryAppropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

6-10 years of relevant experience in Apps Development or systems analysis roleThis is hands-on senior developer role requiring ability to independently code and deliver complex functionalities in Java while also providing mentorship to junior team members.Extensive experience system analysis and in programming of software applicationsExperience in managing and implementing successful projectsSubject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of Applications DevelopmentAbility to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictateDemonstrated leadership and project management skillsConsistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

Technical Skills:

6-10 years of recent experience with design and development of enterprise scalable applications using Java/J2EE, Spring Framework and related technologies.Extensive experience system analysis and in programming of software applicationsProficient in functional programming concepts with Streams API, Lambda Expressions and Optional.Strong experience in data modeling and experience with relational and no-SQL database, Oracle and MongoDB.Strong understanding of microservices architecture, including service discovery, API gateways, and inter-service communication.Hands on experience in Apache Kafka for real time streaming and event driven architecture.Knowledge of reactive programming for building asynchronous, event/message-driven systems in microservices based applications that are highly concurrent.Familiarity with container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes), and distributed messaging systems (e.g., Kafka).Experience in Agile, Scrum, and/or Test Driven Development environmentAbility to develop secure and scalable application following secure coding best practiceExperience in leading hands-on Dev and implementing successful projectsAbility to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirementConsistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

Education:

Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
