Job Overview

The Applications Development Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities:

Utilize knowledge of applications development procedures and concepts, and basic knowledge of other technical areas to identify and define necessary system enhancementsIdentify and analyze issues, make recommendations, and implement solutionsUtilize knowledge of business processes, system processes, and industry standards to solve complex issuesAnalyze information and make evaluative judgements to recommend solutions and improvementsConduct testing and debugging, utilize script tools, and write basic code for design specificationsAssess applicability of similar experiences and evaluate options under circumstances not covered by proceduresDevelop working knowledge of Citi’s information systems, procedures, standards, client server application development, network operations, database administration, systems administration, data center operations, and PC-based applicationsAppropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

2-5 years of relevant experienceExperience in programming/debugging used in business applicationsWorking knowledge of industry practice and standardsComprehensive knowledge of specific business area for application developmentWorking knowledge of program languagesConsistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

Education:

Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

Role Description: Looking for an experienced Java Developer with 3 to 6 years of hands-on experience in Core Java, Spring, Spring Boot, REST API, JSP framework, Hibernate and SQL.
The ideal candidate should have strong problem-solving skills, a deep understanding of object-oriented programming and experience in developing scalable and high performance applications.
Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision
Apply fundamental knowledge of programming languages for design specifications.
Contribute to all stages of software development lifecycle
writing well designed, testable, efficient code

Responsibilities: Develop REST APIs using Spring Boot and integrate them with front end application.
Work with JSP, Servlets and front-end technologies for Dynamic Web Application.
Write efficient SQL queries, work with Hibernate / JPA for ORM.
Troubleshoots, debug, and resolve software defects and performance bottlenecks.
Follow best coding practices, design patterns and clean code principles.
Participate in code reviews, unit testing and integration testing.
work in agile/Scrum environments.
Knowledge and understanding of containerization like Docker, Openshift is plus.
Should have worked on DevOps tools, with working knowledge of BitBucket, SonarQube, Jenkins.
Work with build tools such as Maven /Gradle.
