We have a brand-new exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Health and Safety Assistant can really make their own. Your focus will be to support Sodexo Live at St James Park with major events operational management and front-line team members, to be compliant with Sodexo UKI’s HSEQ Policies and Food Safety Policy. This will suit someone with a keen interest in food Health and Safety who can ensure compliance.

Main Responsibilities
Working under the supervision and guidance of the Health & Safety Advisor to ensure adherence to regulatory, statutory requirements and best practice guidance.Supporting the HSE Advisor and operational team in delivery of the HSE plan through continuous improvement and assurance of effective management systems, strategic initiatives, cultural development and leadership.Supporting due diligence and corporate responsibility, requiring good communication and influencing skills, with all levels of staff on site. Supporting with the writing of risk assessments, safe operating procedures and safe systems of work.Creating analytical reports of safety dataWorkplace inspections, hazard identification and risk reduction.Coordinating HSE meetings, minute taking and action tracking.Supporting with employee briefing, training and development.Desirable
Excellent communicator including factual report writingBe able to work both independently and in teamsHave a high level of attention to detail, meticulous but pragmatic processes and organizational skillsBe approachable, be a good listener, be diplomatic, be assertiveExperience in soft FM safety managementAbility to prioritise, work to tight deadlines, both prescribed and self – imposed.Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships at all levels.Experience of presenting at client review forums and completing relevant information
Essential
Interest in becoming chartered in a HSE disciplines, as a minimum qualify for TechIOSH membershipAbility to effectively cooperate and deal with wide range of internal and external relationshipsCommitment to HSE management.
