In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives. **The Opportunity** As a Field Technical Engineer within our Electrophysiology (EP) team you will be responsible for providing expert support and advise on the use of the Abbott EP portfolio within the assigned territory. **What You’ll Work On** + Provide expert clinical consultation, teaching and support on the use of all EP products and their appropriate application during electrophysiological procedures in the hospital (catheter laboratory) + Maintain up to date technical knowledge of current and new therapies and technologies within the therapy area, including competitor devices, as well as a general understanding of the dynamics of the country healthcare market; discuss industry-specific flagship products and services + Resolve common customer problems and respond to unexpected customer requests with a sense of urgency and positive action + Provide technical support to the EP salesforce; proactively communicate information and discuss product placement and complex case support with sales team; discuss whole range of Abbott EP products and services with physicians/hospital staff + Understand the business priorities of internal and external clients, awareness of sales targets and trends, marketing messaging and describe desired or actual business results in measurable scales or terms **Required Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical or science related field or equivalent + Ideally electrophysiology/cardiac rhythm management clinical experience + Familiarity with catheter lab and operating room procedures and protocol and strong cardiac anatomy & physiology knowledge preferred + Strong communicator with active listening skills and questioning techniques + A willingness to travel 75% of the time and ability to work autonomously; adapting work schedule to procedures’ duration and coping with irregular/uneven work days An Equal Opportunity Employer Abbot welcomes and encourages diversity in our workforce.
