Apprentice Credit Controller (18-month FTC)

 

 

Are you ready to kickstart your career in finance with a dynamic and supportive team? Join us as an Apprentice Credit Controller and become an integral part of our credit control department. In this role, you will be responsible for managing customer accounts through rigorous follow-ups via email, phone, and letter, ensuring timely collection of payments to meet company targets and cash flow requirements. You will also allocate payments to invoice and manage relationships with internal stakeholders and Sales teams.

 

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in credit control while working in a collaborative environment that values your contributions. We will also support you in the completion of the Level 2 AAT Certificate in Accounting.

 

Key responsibilities:
 

Managing ledger accounts, prioritising chase lists and targeting overdue accounts within agreed SLAs.  Maintaining overdue balances within agreed ledger targets Allocating payments against invoices Provide a high level of customer service and professionalism to both internal and external customers, establishing a good rapport, to ensure timely payment of accounts and minimise risk of bad and doubtful debt  Managing unallocated cash balances, chasing remittance advice.   Balance priorities to meet deadlines and achieve agreed targets  Provide feedback to Team leader regarding account status for monthly overdue reporting.  Fully understand and comply with company collection and claims procedures Be a team player,  Daily logging of customer claims to allow tracking and reporting 

 
What you’ll bring


 
Essential criteria:

 

Highly numerate,  Excellent communication skills are essential, with the ability to communicate at all levels.   Highly organised, able prioritise own work load within tight deadlines Knowledge of Microsoft packages, excel, outlook and word
 

Preferred criteria: 

 

Grade C/4 in Maths and English

Salary

 

Up to £18,000 dependent on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus bonus and benefits.
