Summary

The Technical Lead role will be responsible for leading the day-to-day technical operations, enhancements, and project implementations for the Manhattan Active Omni Order Management System (MAO OMS). This role will manage incident resolution, enhancements, and delivery of new capabilities while ensuring system stability, performance, and scalability. It will also act as the main liaison between business partners, technical teams, and vendors, driving standard methodologies and ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and operational goals!

ResponsibilitiesLeadership & CoordinationServe as the main technical point of contact for MAO OMS support, enhancements, and project activities.Coordinate and guide a team of developers, analysts, and support engineers in delivering high-quality solutions on time and within scope.Collaborate with multi-functional teams including infrastructure, integration, QA, and business teams to ensure seamless end-to-end delivery.Drive compliance to SDLC, agile processes, and release management standards. Support & Incident ManagementOversee day-to-day support activities, including monitoring system health, resolving incidents & critical issues, and managing intensified issues.Ensure timely root cause analysis (RCA) and implementation of permanent fixes for recurring issues.Maintain knowledge base and documentation for system processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps. Enhancements & Continuous ImprovementLead the design, development, and deployment of OMS enhancements based on business requirements.Review and approve technical designs, ensuring alignment with architectural standards and performance expectations.Identify process gaps and opportunities for automation, performance improvement, and system optimization.Partner with business analysts to translate functional requirements into robust technical solutions. Project DeliveryPlan and manage technical outputs for OMS-related projects, ensuring key timelines and results are met.Provide technical guidance during discovery, design, build, testing, and deployment phases.Coordinate with integration teams to ensure seamless data exchange between OMS, ERP, POS, eCommerce, WMS, and other enterprise systems.Support end-to-end testing and production cutover activities. Technical Oversight & GovernanceEnsure compliance with security, data privacy, and operational standards.Manage OMS environment strategy (dev, test, stage, prod), including refreshes and configuration management.Oversee performance monitoring, planning for capacity, and system tuning.Review and approve deployment scripts, configuration changes, and release notes.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience10+ years of experience in IT with at least 4+ years in Order Management Systems.Minimum 3+ years hands-on experience with MAO OMS (or Manhattan Order Management 201x with exposure to Active Omni migration).Solid understanding of OMS order lifecycle, payment processing, tax modules, fraud management, fulfillment flows (BOPIS, ship-from-store, ship-to-home), and returns.Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices architecture, along with API execution and using Postman.Experience with integration platforms (MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, Kafka, etc.).Strong SQL skills (Oracle, PostgreSQL, or similar) and knowledge of database performance tuning.Familiarity with cloud-based deployment (GCP, AWS, or Azure) and Kubernetes/Docker containerization. Education

Bachelor’s degree in Technology or related field; or combination of equivalent education and experience
