Job Summary:
Trane in Pine Brook, NJ is hiring for Application Engineer (Systems). In this role, you will work closely with sales and operations throughout the project life cycle and will be responsible for timely completion of equipment and controls design requests, budgeting, submittals, and project coordination.
What you will do:
Assist the sales team with equipment and controls design requests.Develop design documentation, including equipment selections, specifications, points list, airflow diagrams, and sequence of operations.Develop budgets and scope letter identifying exceptions/exclusions.Support sales with design-build opportunities, as well as pre-purchase bids.Participate in job meetings with Sales Leaders, Account Managers, and Estimators to review scope, strategy, etc.Develop equipment submittals for approval, including any revisions and record submittals.Responsible for evaluating possible cost savings and/or unaccounted cost on projects.Optimize project costs by negotiating pricing with vendors for materials.Attend internal and external turnover and coordination meeting.Review and update equipment for order entry; verify equipment pricing, prepare turnover package, and reconcile project costs.Manage all aspects of a large, complex projects from start to finish.Coordinate internal/external resources to help resolve quality, customer, and/or project challenges.Stay current on latest equipment and controls offerings, as well as utility and other incentive/rebate programs. Support and promote new processes and initiatives to increase productivity, accuracy, and overall profitability.
What you will bring:
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or other related area; two (2) to three (3) years of experience in the HVAC industry performing project management or estimating is preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Windows / Microsoft Office product knowledge. Familiarity with HVAC Systems and/or Temperature Controls preferred.Flexibility to work outside normal work hours, as required.Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations included, but not limited to: DUI in the previous 5 years, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving, or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
Compensation:
Base Pay Range: $100,000 - $125,000 plus incentive.
Total compensation for this role will includes an incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
