Applications Engineer
TI’s Multiphase Processor Power (MPP) team – responsible for multiphase DC/DC controllers, power stages and multiphase modules - is looking for Applications engineers with power design experience to drive the next wave of smart power stages and high power density multiphase module solutions with inductor and input/output capacitor integrated in high performance, high efficiency, and high-density DC/DC solutions. In MPP, our mission is to deliver the most competitive vertical-power-delivery solutions which power cutting edge AI Accelerator Chips, large CPU, SOC, ASIC platforms in the rapidly expanding enterprise cloud computing/datacenter market. **Change the world. Love your job.** Applications engineers at TI serve as technical experts on a given product family or portfolio and its use cases. This function may be deployed or organized by end equipment or sector to drive a deeper understanding of such applications and enable them to best support our sales team and customers in designing our devices into their products. Applications engineers will partner with Systems and Marketing teams to deliver collateral, supporting documentation, tools and/or software that accelerate customers' development time and drive design WINs. They will also play an important role in ramping new target end-equipments by showcasing the features of a given product portfolio in a new context or application. Applications engineers also provide pre- and post-sales support to our customers through E2E forums and by partnering with Sales teams on assigned and unassigned accounts. At times, they may also assist customer quality engineers when evaluating customer returns by recreating issues on the bench, setting up the device in the FA lab for probe and debug, or developing a test improvement plan. **Why TI?** + Engineer your future. If you are interested in this position, please apply to this requisition. **Minimum requirements** + Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, ECE, or related field + 10 years of relevant experience + Experience in applications support of analog products + Solid hardware and software debugging skills, especially in electrical and thermal modeling. + Strong technical background, with the ability to produce high quality technical documentation **Preferred qualifications:** + Develop a electrical system model for customer board designs to predict system Transients / Efficiency / TDC & EDC + Customer Motherboard System level Model + PDN extractions for LPD / VPD / CVPD + Parasitic modeling and variations + Product level PCB modeling + Define customer design based localized PCB impact to Power stage / module performance + Convert PCB models into system Transient / Efficiency / Design Current predictions + Recommend Output and Input filter design for customer boards and optimize PCB designs with impedance matching + System level conductive and radiative EMI optimization + Correlate theoretical data to customer findings in design + Translate Electrical modeling for customers into internal CBL product development and PPIT execution + Engage with Top Tier customers on Electrical modeling: + Develop a electrical system model for customer board designs to predict system Transients / Efficiency / TDC & EDC + Demonstrate prototype design based on model results + Influencing System Validation PCB design to replicate customer electrical designs + Develop Transient test tool PCB models + Driving Product definition proposals based on Electrical modeling for Power Stages and Modules designs and impact CBL + Build processes to reduce design cycle time at customers + Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills + Strong verbal and written communication skills + Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions + Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery + Demonstrated ability to build strong, influential relationships + Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment + Ability to take the initiative and drive for results **ECL/GTC Required:** Yes
