The Applications Analyst I, Pharmacy supports pharmacy applications across commercial, investigational, outpatient, and specialty areas. Working in a complex, multi-institutional environment, this role assists with application setup and configuration, system upgrades, issue resolution, and testing of pharmacy IT systems and data interfaces. The analyst collaborates closely with the Lead Pharmacy Analyst and stakeholders to ensure efficient operations at both the main and satellite locations.  Additionally, the Applications Analyst I, Pharmacy position requires a strong understanding of pharmacy workflows, excellent analytical and communication skills, and experience working with technical systems and interfaces.

Responsibilities

Application Support

Provide support for pharmacy applications and hardware in collaboration with the Lead Pharmacy Analyst.Offer end-user support for new and existing systems, including workflow evaluation and issue tracking.Troubleshoot and resolve application and interface issues to ensure system reliability.

System Upgrades and Enhancements

Participate in planning and execution of system upgrades, enhancements, and testing.Collaborate on upgrade schedules and conduct testing prior to go-live.Assist in disaster recovery planning and testing activities.

Project Leadership and Collaboration

Lead small-scale IT projects and assist with department-wide initiatives.Engage with stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional teams to ensure project success.Support vendor evaluations and RFP processes as needed.

Hardware and Server Support

Troubleshoot pharmacy-specific devices and hardware.Support server provisioning and operating system upgrades.Gain proficiency in server setup and maintenance processes.

Cloud Migration and Application Archiving

Contribute to cloud migration strategies for on-premise applications.Assist in application decommissioning and data archiving.

Security and Compliance

Maintain system access controls and support new hire setup.Participate in application security reviews and escalate concerns as appropriate.

Vendor and Stakeholder Management

Foster strong vendor relationships and communication.Align support efforts with organizational IT and pharmacy operations.

Additional Responsibilities

Support strategic initiatives such as new clinical collaborations and hospital expansion projects.Participate in on-call rotation or as needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field required.2 years of experience supporting IT applications in a healthcare or pharmacy setting required.  Experience with system-to-system interfaces, troubleshooting, and application upgrades preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard business applications.Experience with system interfaces and issue resolution.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.Collaborative approach to working with multidisciplinary teams.Ability to travel between main and regional locations as required.
