MERLIN Gesellschaft für mikrobiologische Diagnostika mbH is an established and successful company in the field of development and manufacturing of in-vitro diagnostics for antimicrobial resistance and susceptibility testing of bacteria and yeasts. Since 2017, MERLIN is included within Bruker Microbiology and Infection Diagnostics (BMID) division of the Bruker Daltonics Group, which is the global market leader for its MALDI Biotyper (MBT) platform for rapid identification of microorganisms. Our MERLIN products are used in routine human and veterinary laboratories. Our company is certified according to DIN EN ISO 13485.

As of now we are looking for our site in Bornheim in full-time for an Application Specialist (m/f/d) Antimicrobial Susceptibility and Resistance Testing (AST/ART)

Responsibilities

In coordination with the BMID application team, the AST/ART Application Specialist is responsible for supporting the development and deployment of Bruker’s AST/ART portfolio, comprising Bruker Merlin specialty AST products and Bruker MALDI Biotyper ART assays.

General duties will include:

Provide scientific, technical and operational support for Bruker Merlin customers and distributors on a global basisExecute “AST/ART training/education" plans: set up and run training materials and sessions to build and sustain Bruker teams’ AST readinessDevelop close working relationships with local Bruker Applications, Service, Sales and Regional BU teams where Bruker Merlin direct channel is establishedCollect and provide feedback into R&D and Marketing teams, customers, competitors and market insightsSupport R&D team with the development, validation and launch of new systems and assaysIn coordination with marketing team, manage global KOLs and support the deployment of Bruker Merlin evidence plans (evaluations, publications, webinars, symposium…)Attend & present Bruker Merlin solutions at specific events (e.g. Sepsis & Antibiotic Resistance)Other Internal duties related to production, QM, R&D Qualifications Degree level in a life science subject, ideally in clinical microbiology or comparable education with several years of experience in clinical microbiologyProven knowledge of Antibiotic Susceptibility/Resistance testing applicationsProven relevant work experience in previous Application Specialists rolesGood knowledge of laboratory environment and workflow Familiarity with systems’ connectivity and ability to troubleshoot softwareGood market intelligence with respect to competitive products and vendors Tenacity and self-motivation inspired by success, enthusiasm, drive and initiative directed towards completion of projectsVery well structured and organized personOutgoing and likeable personality with a high degree of personal integrity and a very high standard of personal presentationA natural team player, willing and able to build confidence and to establish co-operative relationships with personnel throughout the companyAbility to comply with local cultural differences and to travel internationallyGerman and English are a mustOur offer:
