Team Overview

The Services team works closely together to set PowerSchool customers up for ongoing success through post-implementation support, troubleshooting, consultation on system setup options, and training on features and functionality. The team offers cross-portfolio support, all while meeting organizational objectives for revenue, utilization, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities Description

The Professional Services team plans, guides, and delivers client projects, all with the aim to meet timeline and budget expectations and achieve organizational goals.

 

The Application Specialist ensures an efficient software operation so that end users can accomplish business tasks. This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving escalated end user help requests. You will be responsible for working with the business to design, develop, implement, integrate, and support PowerSchool’s applications. This person is also responsible for defining, documenting and implementing best practices and standards.

 

Your day-to-day job will consist of:

Assist with the maintenance of all business applications including regular updates, major version releases, new installations, and bug fixes where neededTroubleshoot, resolve escalated application incidents and problems; this includes acting as a point of escalation for support problems and incidents that are not able to be resolved by the Help DeskWork directly with IT and Development on new implementations and various project workAssist and work with users with finding ways to utilize software and technology more effectively and securelyEvaluate/test new software and business solutionsEnsures data security and integrity for all PowerSchool applicationsContinually audit and monitor systems for deficiencies and perform necessary maintenance as requiredExercise independent judgment to analyze and diagnose application related problems and issuesAssist in application training of existing users and new employeesExplore new solutions, including testing, design, modifications and deployment required to meet both the company’s and client’s business requirementsAll other duties as assigned Qualifications Minimum QualificationsMinimum of 3 years of relevant and related work experience.Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or work-related experienceStrong knowledge of standard IT practices and workflowsAdvanced knowledge and applications troubleshooting with industry specific applicationsStrong customer service skillsStrong analytical, troubleshooting and organization skillsPreferred Qualifications3-5 years of relevant job experience, ideally with prior experience working within the education software industry, preferredExperience with building dashboards or a deep understanding of Business IntelligenceMust be able to learn and understand business processes as they relate to application usage, internal controls, security and technologyStrong project management, verbal and written communication skills and customer service skillsOversee large scale projects with detailed designs and document business processes and procedures to coincide with project and firm expectationsWork with minimal supervision and take ownership of problems and/or issues and ensures timely resolutionAble to work both independently and as a member within a team environment EEO Commitment
