Application Packaging Engineer (Erskine Based)

Due to continued growth we have a great opportunity for an experienced Application Packaging Subject Matter Expert Engineer to join our expanding Erskine Based team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing expert-level guidance and leadership in all aspects of application packaging and deployment. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with extensive experience and deep expertise in application packaging to drive innovation and excellence within our organisation.

Successful Candidates will either hold or be eligible for Security Clearance. Criteria includes British Citizenship with no other citizenships and you have lived in the UK for the last 5 years minimum.

This role will be site based in Erskine, Scotland .

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary technical authority and subject matter expert for all matters related to application packaging and deployment

Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced application packaging strategies, methodologies, and best practices

Provide expert-level support and guidance to project teams and stakeholders on complex application packaging issues, including architecture design, deployment strategies, and troubleshooting

Lead and mentor a team of application packaging engineers, providing technical direction, mentorship, and knowledge transfer

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess business requirements, evaluate technology solutions, and recommend innovative approaches to optimise software delivery processes

Develop and maintain application packaging standards, guidelines, and documentation to ensure consistency and compliance

Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and processes to enhance the application packaging, workflow, automation, and scalability

Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in application packaging, virtualisation, and software deployment

Qualifications:

Experienced in application packaging and deployment in enterprise environments, with a proven track record of leadership and expertise

Extensive experience with packaging tools and technologies, such as Microsoft App-V, MSI and deployment technologies

Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell and/or other scripting languages

Deep understanding of Windows Operating Systems, Active Directory, Group Policy, and application compatibility issues

Experience with Software Deployment integrations with other Microsoft technologies (e.g., Intune, MECM)

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and drive resolution

Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise tasks effectively

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation

Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and mentor team members to achieve excellence
