The Role

Our Cloud Migration and Modernization Architects are leaders. They’ve gained 10+ years’ experience in technology, 5+ years’ experience in On-Premises, Cloud Solutions and Multi-Cloud Infrastructures and are ready to make a meaningful impact on our clients.

Sometimes that leadership manifests in such deep technical expertise that they can lead and perform hands-on technical build, migration, and technical designs for projects to achieve client’s transformations and to help rescue clients from blocked or difficult projects. Translating client requirements, understanding client’s circumstances, and executing project services to support the design and implementation of converged infrastructure solutions, in order to deliver cloud operations, consolidate and protect workloads.

You will use assets and reference architectures, build proof-of concepts, build and execute implementation plans, testing plans and deployment plans to address client requirements and work with products or solutions based on partner hardware and/or partner software.

We need people who have a deep technical background expertise in the technologies that will make our customers successful. To be a Cloud Migration and Modernization Architect at Kyndryl you should be ready to be hands on from technical solutioning, project startup, implementation and project close.

Responsibilities:

Working with project managers, and platform specialists to drive assessment, discovery, and migrationsAttend client workshops to articulate scope, method, and approach for the migration, working with subject matter experts to build the migration strategy, co-creating and developing a viable solutionRemediate and adapt client architectures to take advantage of the CloudIdentifying technical solutions to migration milestones, using best practices and blueprints, in order to guide client teams to implement themValidate move success, monitoring tools integration, CI/CD integration, and hand-over after migration executionValidate target infrastructure readiness for migrationDrive the implementation of special migration methods like cluster migration, storage, or data migrationCreate the required artefacts (design document, diagrams, run book, ASD, HLD, LLD, etc)Design the Migration Plan solutionDevelop a point of view, capture, prioritize and analyze technical (functional and non-functional) requirementsPossess strong leadership skills and further the evolution of intellectual capital assets and developing architectural resourcesApply Architectural Methods and Techniques.Manage the technical architectural contract terms and conditionsEducate, mentor and coach teams in applying architectural techniquesFacilitate and capture lessons learned from projects to update methodologies and assetsBe a recognized as a technical thought leaderSupport company initiatives for offerings, contracts, technologies, and go-to-marketSet priorities to build technical architectural and project assets/deliverables for repurposingSuccessfully lead Customer’s migration and transformation projects

Who You Are

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Required Education/Certifications: 

Degree level or equivalent. Recognised Architectural certification (e.g. Togaf, Open Group)Current security clearance is essential Relevant technical platform and multi-cloud certifications (e.g. Azure, AWS, GCP).
