Job Summary:
The Application Engineer is responsible to support both small/medium Projects and mainly MRO sales opportunities. This role involves all customer activities related to the order acquisition process, including proposal development, scope specification and review, pricing analysis, and coordination with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain close working relationships with Sales, Operations and other functional departments to promote the best interests of the company.
Preparation of most competitive proposals based on Flowserve portfolio in a timely and high-quality manner, within the limitations dictated by the client or manager using tools and processes for designated job management.
Review all documents related to customer request / inquiry while addressing all relevant technical and business requirements.
Manage and monitor the proposal throughout the offering cycle, including updating and maintaining the workload management tool, while optimizing success rate tracking.
Lead all coordination efforts in quotes and promote close collaboration and communication with all parties involved (including credit, T&Cs legal, supply chain, planning, etc.)
Coordinate and manage requests from sub-suppliers, spare parts and components, labor estimates and budgets related to the requests.
Use designated tools / procedures and processes.
Support and develop the team in applications and market knowledge for isolation valves and automation
It presents opportunities for improvement "Kaizen" to the processes within their daily activities
Develop a clear understanding of life cycle cost principles and the ability to create value-added propositions that differentiate Flowserve product offerings with the traditional first-cost approach.

Requirements:
Engineering Degree (Mechanical / Industrial / Automation / Chemical or similar).
6 years minimum, in similar positions in the technical sales commercial area
Have experience in the industrial equipment manufacturer industry
Have a good understanding on standards for isolation valves, mainly for offshore application (API 6A, API 6D and API 608).
Experience in a work style oriented to teamwork and that values communication, participation and the participation of others.
Organizational skills.
Both written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to detail and a process-oriented mindset with mechanical aptitude.
Demonstrate a fundamental understanding of the applications mainly in isolation valves and automation, a clear understanding of the sizing principles and how they relate to valves and control systems.
Have a good level of written and spoken English and preferable Spanish, as well as experience with Microsoft Office tools in specific Excel.
