Application Developer - DevOps Tools & Methodologies
CTG is seeking to fill an Application Developer – DevOps Tools & Methodologies opening for our client in Jersey City, NJ. Location: Jersey City, NJ Duration: 12 months Description: As an Application Consultant specializing in DevSecOps, you will technically analyze the clients' IT environment to achieve better efficiency using DevOps tools and methodologies across traditional or cloud environments. You will prepare gap analysis documents and/or design a proposed DevSecOps automation adoption roadmap on both the development and operations side, from requirements to solution. Responsibilities include architecting the DevSecOps tooling infrastructure, defining interface requirements among various integrated tool sets, and supporting integration with multiple DevSecOps platforms. You will also provide mentorship to DevOps engineers, deliver projects, and support activities across the Solution/Build/Test/Deploy lifecycle, as well as Application Performance Management. Additionally, you will be involved in researching and evaluating emerging technologies, industry trends, and market practices to assist in solution development and project success. Duties: Analyze IT environments for efficiency improvements using DevOps tools and methodologies. Create gap analysis documents and design DevSecOps automation adoption roadmaps. Architect DevSecOps tooling infrastructure and define integration/interface requirements. Provide technical mentorship to DevOps engineers and support project delivery. Participate in solution, build, test, deploy lifecycle activities. Manage and optimize application performance management processes. Research and evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and market trends to support solution development. Skills: Strong knowledge of DevOps and DevSecOps tools, methodologies, and best practices. Experience with automation, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and orchestration. Ability to design, integrate, and implement DevOps toolchains in hybrid environments. Proficiency in cloud environments (AWS preferred). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent mentorship and collaboration abilities. Nice to Have Skills: Java, Spring Boot, React, Microservices, REST APIs SQL/NoSQL databases JavaScript Docker CI/CD tools AWS cloud experience Experience: Proven experience in DevOps/DevSecOps, application development, and infrastructure automation. Hands-on experience with CI/CD, containerization, and cloud-based deployments. Background in performance management and lifecycle support of enterprise applications. Prior experience mentoring and guiding technical teams. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
