CTG is seeking to fill an Application Consultant – Cloud opening for our client in Wisconsin. Location: Remote Duration: 6 months Description: The Application Consultant – Cloud will advise clients on strategies and tools for building and modernizing applications in hybrid and container-based cloud environments. This role will focus on designing, deploying, and maintaining secure, automated, and scalable cloud solutions across multiple providers. The consultant will contribute to all phases of project delivery, including architecture, design, and implementation of cloud-native applications, APIs, and microservices. Expertise in containers, automation, and serverless computing is required. Experience with legacy modernization—including mainframe, iSeries, Solaris, or VAX/VMS platforms—is highly valued, particularly in designing migration strategies, refactoring, containerization, and API-based integration. This role requires strong knowledge of software architecture fundamentals and the ability to map legacy and modern application components to the most effective cloud-native services. Duties: Advise clients on hybrid cloud application strategies and container-based solutions. Design, build, and maintain containerized hybrid cloud environments. Implement access control, network security, and automation using configuration management tools. Lead solution design and cloud architecture implementations. Develop APIs and microservices-based solutions. Deliver modernization solutions for legacy platforms as needed. Map application components to cloud-native services across providers. Skills: Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, or others). Strong knowledge of Node.js, Spring Boot, or Spring Cloud. Solid understanding of containers, microservices, and serverless computing. Experience with modernization strategies: refactoring, API/microservices creation, and containerization. Knowledge of Systems of Engagement, Insight, Integration, and Record. Familiarity with configuration management and automation tools. Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in application development, data processing, or IT operations. At least 2 years’ experience implementing API and microservices-based architectures. Experience designing and deploying cloud-native applications and hybrid cloud solutions. Background in legacy systems modernization (mainframe, iSeries, Solaris, VAX/VMS) preferred. Knowledge of Fiserv’s Premier banking application, Unisys MCP operating system, WFL, IBM iSeries, and AJS (job scheduler) is a plus. Education: Two-year degree in Computer Science preferred. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
