You Are:

We are seeking a highly skilled Apigee specialist with deep experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to lead the end-to-end setup of Apigee (Apigee X or Hybrid) for our enterprise. This role requires setting up Apigee from the ground up, integrating it with Okta for enterprise authentication, ensuring secure communication with AWS-hosted backend services, and executing a comprehensive migration from our current on-premises Apigee environment.

 

The opportunity:

·       Build and configure foundational GCP infrastructure (VPCs, subnets, peering, firewall rules, IAM, Cloud NAT, etc.) to support Apigee setup.

·       Integrate Apigee with Okta for identity and access management using OAuth2.0, OIDC, or SAML.

·       Enable secure and performant communication between Apigee and AWS-hosted services via private connectivity, VPN, or other secure channels.

·       Create and configure API proxies, shared flows, target endpoints, and policies for security (e.g., JWT validation, API key verification, threat protection).

·       Plan and execute migration of APIs, policies, and configurations from on-premises Apigee to Apigee in GCP.

·       Provide detailed documentation, architectural diagrams, and knowledge transfer to internal teams.

·       Collaborate closely with DevOps, Security, and Backend API teams.

 

 

This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required.

 

What you need:

·       Proven experience with Okta integration (SAML/OIDC) for secure API authentication.

·       Experience with migrating Apigee from on-prem to cloud would be good to have.

·       Proficiency with API security best practices, rate limiting, caching, quotas, and analytics.

·       Strong scripting/automation skills (Bash, Python, Terraform, etc.).

 

 

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

Role Location: Remote

Compensation Range: $75,000-$113,000

 

 

Benefits

Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. Regular employees may purchase additional voluntary short-term disability benefits, and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) as well as a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare, dependent child care, and/or commuting expenses as allowable under IRS guidelines. Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico.

Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) program with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance.

Part-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year).

All US employees who work in a state or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
