APAC Purchasing Director

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Procurement Leadership  
- Develop and execute the APAC procurement strategy, and alignment with Prysmian’s global objectives.  
- Lead commodity price risk management (copper, aluminum, polymers) through hedging, long-term contracts, and market intelligence.  
- Drive supplier consolidation and localization initiatives to mitigate geopolitical/logistical risks in key markets.  

2. Regional & Global Collaboration
- Partner with global procurement teams to leverage group synergies in supplier negotiations and standardization.  
- Align with APAC manufacturing sites to balance centralized procurement and plant-specific requirements.  

3. Supplier & Stakeholder Management
- Oversee end-to-end supplier qualification, contract negotiation, and performance tracking (Quality, Cost, Delivery).  
- Develop strategic supplier partnerships for critical raw materials and CAPEX/MRO categories.  
- Ensure compliance with Prysmian’s Compliance policies, and ESG commitments

4. Cost Optimization & Innovation
- Deliver annual cost-saving targets via competitive bidding, VA/VE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering), and material substitution.  
- Champion digital procurement tools

5. Team Management
- APAC organization Synergy and efficiency
- Manage a regional procurement team, fostering talent development and operational excellence.

Qualifications & Experience :

- 10+ years in procurement in MNC, Candidates with a background in wire and cable, electrical, or heavy industry are preferred.
- Deep knowledge of APAC supply chains
- Financial acumen: Cost modeling, should-cost analysis, and P&L impact assessment.  
- Risk management: Experience with futures/derivatives for raw material price stabilization.  
- Stakeholder influence: Ability to navigate matrixed organizations and align regional/global priorities.  
- Adaptability to emerging market volatility (tariffs, trade policies, supply disruptions).  

- Languages: Fluency in English; proficiency in Mandarin or other APAC languages is a plus.
