Purpose of the Role:

The role of APAC pre-sales lead plays a hybrid role that bridges sales, product development and technical delivery. The main goal of the role is to translate customer needs and market demands into actionable product requirements with a particular focus on direct key accounts and integrators such as ISVs. 

Responsibilities:

Product domain: Pre-sales lead

Leadership of the pre-sales domain across APAC, including a team of up to 7 team members. 

Customer-first mindset with a strategic approach to feature enablement and delivery. 

Enhance customer trust and technical confidence through a solution orientated sales approach. 

Passion to mentor, coach and pre-sales team members.

Customer solutioning and requirements gathering

Design and recommend holistic solutions for sales opportunities to partners and key accounts including proof of concepts and demonstrations.

Provide the highest level of customer service at all times to designated key accounts (including direct partners and aggregators such as ISVs) and internal customers.

Act as a bridge between sales and product: Gather technical and functional requirements from customer-facing teams. 

Stages delivery of customer solutions based on solutions that are available vs solutions as part of customer roadmap (to align to product build).

Translate customer business needs into a solution placemat, architecture diagrams and integration flows.

Identify gaps in current product capabilities and relay those to the product leads to prioritise and build into product roadmaps.

Pre-sales support and solutioning

Partner with sales during the RFI/RFP process, customer workshops and technical discovery sessions.

Create and present tailored payment solution proposals, architecture overviews and integration options.

Conduct feasibility analysis for customisations, integrations and compliance needs. 

Draft statements of work (SOWs) that clearly defines deliverables, timelines, assumptions, technical responsibilities and integration complexity to ensure alignment between customer expectations and internal delivery capabilities. 

Product feedback loop

Act as the voice of the customer within the product team, advocating for high-impact features

Provide real-world insights into industry trends, competitive benchmarks and customer pain points.

Work with product operations and product leads to prioritize roadmap items based on sales opportunities and revenue potential. 

Technical advisory and thought leadership

Guide customers on integration options (e.g. APIs, SDKS, webhooks).

Explain compliance, security and data requirements (e..g. PCI-DSS, 3DS2, tokenisation) in business terms 

Represent the company’s technical competency in customer conversations and demos.

Experience and Expertise 

10+ years' experience in pre-sales function, solution specialist or solution architect.

A people first mindset. Leadership of up to 7 people to support product development and delivery activities. 

Familiarity with API design, solution architecture and product frameworks and considerations. 

Excellent written and oral communication with the ability to empathise with customers and partners through the pre-sales process.

Excellent attention to detail, with demonstrated analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills.

Passionate about delivering great customer experiences and bringing products to life that scale, representing the voice of the customer. 

Resilience with a growth mindset to continually refine and improve experiences.

You are a collaborative operator who can bring together diverse perspectives from across the business and prioritise product solutions to deliver the greatest value.

Demonstrated values of Passion, Care, Accountability, Excellence and Ingenuity to collaborate with team and deliver outcomes in a global matrix organsiation.

Preferred

Demonstrated delivery of product across the APAC region and an understanding of payments product requirements across the region. 

Knowledge and/or experience working in an agile environment.

Being adept in project management including experience using various project management techniques would be advantageous.
