APAC Equipment Procurement Leader

Accountable for the APAC equipment category spending. Reduce the products’ cost by sourcing components, assemblies and finished goods from APAC to support global needs.

Primary Responsibilities
Understanding the equipment market, development and formal execution of APAC equipment procurement strategies and best practices associated with bidding, negotiation, tracking of results and supplier development.
Sourcing of equipment in APAC and support with the Global Equipment Category team.
Identification, attaining commitment, and implementation of cost-out improvement opportunities to create structural and sustained advantages.
Development of “should cost” and “make versus buy” financial models which provide predictive analysis to support decision making.
Provide forward looking guidance on trends, threats, and opportunities throughout the supply chain.
Development of contingency and risk mitigation plans.
Building positive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Support of new supplier qualifications to expand the supply base.
Ensuring compliance with Environmental, Health & Safety, and Responsible Care programs.
Qualifications
Greater than 6-years of experience in purchasing in the equipment market.
Capability to develop suppliers from low-cost countries/regions.

Degree in Mechanical or Automatic Engineering preferred.
Ability to work effectively in a geographically distributed organization.
Proficiency in written and spoken English.
Working knowledge of SAP.
Excellent organization capabilities and project management skills.
Data analysis skills - Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Power Point and their higher-level functions such as pivot tables, v-look, formulas, etc.
Problem solving skills.
Ability to identify, understand and provide prioritization of actions to all elements of the organization.
Ability to work in a very diverse and matrix environment across a broad group of multi-functional stakeholders.
