Eaton’s GEIS( Global Energy Infrastructure Solution) is hiring an APAC Engineering Director in Shanghai.
What you’ll do:This exciting role is to lead GEIS APAC engineering team in developing new products and upgrading existing products to support on business growth, manage the certification of new and existing products as well as the reliability of the products. The major responsibilities include the team management, program timeline, product cost and project budget, certification and reliability, the whole life cylce of the products from design to go live and continous improvement after mass production. The leader will manage or coordinate activities with the global design center about the reliability testing schedule in Changzhou.
• Be responsible for long term strategy plan of engineering function in GEIS APAC to drive the team and business forward with market and technology trend.
• Take ownership on annual profit plan to work out the short term goals and corresponding actions plans to achieve the goals.
• Be familar with hazardous areas stanards and industry requirement to keep pace with latest technology.
• Work as a expert in technical design in the engineering function with sensitiveness on minor innovation differentiation compared with competitors domestically and internationally.
• Be capable of giving clear direction and guidance to design team on the new product innovation and upgrade of existing products in the market.
• Be competent on Prolaunch process to strict follow Eaton new product design process to mitigate any potential risk during the design stage.
• Be responsible for overal program management of new product design and existing product upgrade to meet the goals of required lead time under effecient and available manpowers.
• Be proficient in product life cycle certification and demonstrate profession facing challengings and difficulties.
• Have some mindset and 3rd party resources which can be leveraged to enhance internal capacity and capabilities to achieve win-win with stakeholders.
• Lead reliability center supporting global reliability testing needs out of APAC region, showing capabilities to coordinate in limited resources under tight schedule.
• Work collaboratively with cross function both in APAC and in Global wide to drive all projects including NPD, VAVE, sustain and other local for local projects as well.
• Manage direct reports, conduct performance reviews, administer merit plan, and discuss goals and development plans with direct reports.
• Organize and build talent pipeline within the R&D team, create opportunities for growth and development of engineering team through effective development plans.
• Promote continuous learning and innovation culture in the engineering organization.
• Demonstrate Eaton leadership model to perform behaviors referring leadership attributes including ethical, transparent, efficient, accountable, passionate and learning.
