The APAC Accounting Manager is a key leadership role, and will be responsible for managing a team to ensure excellence in technical and operational delivery. This position oversees the revenue cycle, ensuring the accuracy of financials, compliance with internal controls, and timely submissions for audits. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and operational processes, exceptional communication skills, and a proactive problem-solving approach.
We will count on you to:
1. Revenue Cycle Management:
Oversee the revenue cycle, ensuring accurate revenue recognition and efficient project setup.Advise business leaders and Legal on contracting, including tax implications and foreign currency exposure risks.Review contracts and invoices generated by billing representatives in compliance with MMC policies.Collaborate with business leaders to provide financial insights throughout the project lifecycle, and partner with internal stakeholders, including Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), to assess project completion and adjust revenue recognition as needed.Conduct additional reviews for large projects exceeding US$7M or as identified by the Regional Controller.Manage Work in Progress (WIP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), including invoicing, cash collections, and project closures, while proactively identifying and resolving risks.2. Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Provide timely revenue, AR, and WIP information to APAC Country Controllership teams and the Center of Excellence to facilitate efficient closing processes.Prepare and present monthly Flash memos and project setup status reports for APAC entities, ensuring clarity and accuracy in reporting.Accountable for all accounting decisions.3. Compliance and Internal Controls:
Ensure adherence to internal controls in alignment with MMC policies, supporting SOX audits and internal/external audits for APAC entities, including responding to audit queries promptly and review monthly deviation monitoring controls prepared by billing representatives.4. Process Improvement and Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with the APAC Revenue Team and key stakeholders to share best practices and drive continuous process improvement and standardization to enhance operational efficiency.Foster strong relationships with country-level stakeholders, including Consulting Partners and Country Controllers.Develop process governance and provide training to stakeholders to ensure compliance with accounting practices.5. Ad-Hoc Tasks:
Assist with additional tasks as assigned by management, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to support team members.What you need to have?
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.15 to 20 years of experience in controllership or finance, preferably in a multinational firm, with 5+ years in people management; revenue accounting experience preferred.Knowledge of US GAAP and local Financial Reporting Standards.Proven ability to lead and drive change in a transforming, matrixed organization.Proficient in spoken and written English and Chinese.What makes you stand out:
