AP Specialist

Purpose:

This position is responsible for performing and analyzing accounts payable functions.

Expense and Freight – FedEx Administration, Coupa, consolidated invoices upload, research, reporting, department data mining and reconciliation of AP aging, credit card administrator, and vendor chargebacks analysis.

Trade – Receiving and analyzing three-way matching invoices, general ledger account coding, research, supplier liaison, reconciliation of AP aging, supplier rebate analysis, Supply Chain Finance management, and reporting.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree preferred (relevant experience can be substituted for the required education on the basis of one calendar year of experience for one academic year of education)3 - 5 years of finance or accounting experience preferredSolid knowledge of Accounting principlesStrong analytical skillsProficient with Microsoft ExcelStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels of the companyAbility to effectively handle multiple assignments simultaneously in a deadline driven environmentExcellent written and verbal communication skillsDetail oriented and highly organized to provide accurate processingExcellent customer service skillsTime managementStrong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.Ability to work well under pressure, multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment

Essential Job Functions:

Analyze and review purchase orders, inventory received, and supplier invoicesRequires communication with suppliers, and internal departments regarding discrepancies Reconcile supplier statementsInvestigate unmatched receiversReview invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to paymentProvide ad-hoc reporting as necessaryAnswer supplier inquiriesMaintain accounts payable reports, and spreadsheetsAssist corporate staff members as necessaryAssist in monthly closingPreparing checksPerform filing and copying
