THE ROLE:  Under supervision of Director of Finance, manage purchases, costs and payments relating to all operations at the Wilmington Convention Center.

ESSENTIAL DUTES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for the oversight and/or processing/reviewing all invoices and purchases for operations.Prepare and analyze information for financial statementsMaintain internal controls and purchasing procedures, issue purchase orders to all departmentsNew Vendor Setup and TrackingAP related journal entries and accrualsBack up for bi-weekly ADP payroll.Responsible for some balance sheet reconciliations and departmental expense reviewResponsible for AP file RetentionPrepare various sales reports and operational reports as required by Director of Finance.Assists as the back-up for other Accountants as necessaryAbides by all SMG policies in the Human Resources Policies and Procedures Manual, the Business Code of Conduct, GAAP and the Cash Handling ProceduresAll other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE     

B.S. in Accounting Preferred At least (4) four years’ equivalent experience requiredPrefer but not required prior experience in a Food & Beverage environment

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

WORKING CONDITIONS

Location: On Site at The Wilmington Convention Center

Requires ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, in addition to normal business hours. Physical requirements of walking, lifting and standing.
