Hennessy Research Associates - a Kemin Company is hiring an Animal Husbandry Technician.

 

We’re seeking a dependable and driven individual to support daily operations on our dynamic research farm, home to over 100 horses and cattle. This isn’t just about feeding animals and cleaning pens - it’s about contributing to meaningful agricultural research that shapes the future of animal care and farm management.

 

As a vital part of our team, you’ll take on a hands-on role in caring for livestock, maintaining facilities, and helping ensure the seamless operation of a farm where science and stewardship go hand in hand. Feed and care for livestock, primarily horses and cattleClean and maintain pens, stalls, and outdoor yardsOperate farm equipment safely and efficientlyMonitor animals for signs of illness, injury, or abnormal behaviorPerform light mechanical repairs and assist with facilities maintenanceSupport general grounds-keeping tasks across the farmWork weekends and some holidays as part of the regular scheduleObtain a Class E driver’s license within 60 days of employment

Qualifications Education and Experience:High school diploma with 5+ years of relevant experiencePrior experience in livestock care is highly desirableFamiliarity with farm equipment and basic mechanical skillsAbility to obtain a Class E driver’s license within 60 days of employmentAbility to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 55+ lbs.Comfortable with bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and climbingWillingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
