Animal Care Technician – Entry Level

Overview:

Join a dedicated team supporting vital research through compassionate and detail-oriented animal care. This entry-level role is perfect for individuals passionate about animal welfare and interested in contributing to scientific advancement.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of animal housing and research facilities.Conduct monthly sanitation of equipment and workspaces to ensure a sterile environment.Provide daily care and monitoring of research animals, including health checks and environmental assessments.Report any changes in animal behavior or facility conditions to the appropriate personnel.Clean and replace cages, water bottles, food containers, and other equipment as needed.Receive, unpack, and properly house animals upon arrival.Maintain accurate records of animal inventory, supplies, and equipment usage.

Required Skills:

General cleaning and sterilization techniquesBasic animal husbandry and careAttention to detail and record-keeping

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent technical certification requiredMinimum of 1 year of experience in animal care preferred (but not required)Strong work ethic and ability to follow protocols

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
