Overview: The Animal Care Attendant (ACA) plays a vital role in supporting the veterinary hospital by ensuring the health, comfort, and safety of all patients. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary environment, assisting with animal handling, and supporting the hospital team in delivering excellent patient care. Key Responsibilities: + Provide daily care for hospitalized and boarding animals, including feeding, watering, walking, and monitoring. + Maintain clean and sanitary kennels, cages, runs, and hospital areas. + Assist veterinary technicians and doctors with safe animal handling and restraint when needed. + Observe and report any changes in patient behavior, appetite, or elimination to medical staff. + Ensure that animals have clean bedding, proper enrichment, and a safe environment. + Bathe and groom patients as directed. + Follow hospital protocols for infection control and patient safety. + Assist with laundry, cleaning, and restocking supplies to support smooth hospital operations. + Provide compassionate care and comfort to animals at all times. Requirements: + Ability to handle animals of all sizes and temperaments safely. + Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks. + Reliability, punctuality, and ability to follow protocols. + Previous animal care experience preferred, but not required. + High school diploma or equivalent. Work Expectations: + Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required. + Team-oriented approach with strong communication skills.
