Overview: The Animal Care Attendant (ACA) plays a vital role in supporting the veterinary hospital by ensuring the health, comfort, and safety of all patients. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary environment, assisting with animal handling, and supporting the hospital team in delivering excellent patient care.   Key Responsibilities:   Provide daily care for hospitalized and boarding animals, including feeding, watering, walking, and monitoring. Maintain clean and sanitary kennels, cages, runs, and hospital areas. Assist veterinary technicians and doctors with safe animal handling and restraint when needed. Observe and report any changes in patient behavior, appetite, or elimination to medical staff. Ensure that animals have clean bedding, proper enrichment, and a safe environment. Bathe and groom patients as directed. Follow hospital protocols for infection control and patient safety. Assist with laundry, cleaning, and restocking supplies to support smooth hospital operations. Provide compassionate care and comfort to animals at all times.   Requirements:   Ability to handle animals of all sizes and temperaments safely. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks. Reliability, punctuality, and ability to follow protocols. Previous animal care experience preferred, but not required. High school diploma or equivalent.     Work Expectations:   Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required. Team-oriented approach with strong communication skills.
