Anesthesiologist

Matrix Providers is hiring an Anesthesiologist to join our team of talented professionals who provide health care services to our Military Service Members and their families in at Syracuse, NY.

Employment Status: Full Time

Schedule: Regular duty: Monday Friday, 07:00 AM 3:30 PM. On-call coverage during evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.

Required Qualifications:

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent from an accredited institution.

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA).

Active, full, and unrestricted medical license in a U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.

Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in Anesthesiology.

At least 3-5 years of relevant Anesthesiology experience (preferred).

Eligible for VA credentialing and privileging prior to providing services.

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

Preferred Experience:

3-5 years of post-residency clinical experience in anesthesiology, preferably in a hospital or VA setting.

Experience providing services within a teaching hospital or academic medical center environment.

Certifications/Training:

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology (American Board of Anesthesiology).

Current BLS and ACLS certification (or equivalent).

Completion of ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology residency program.

Compliance with all VA-mandated training (e.g., HIPAA, privacy and security, workplace safety, and other required TMS courses).

Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform preoperative assessments, intraoperative anesthesia, and postoperative care for a broad range of surgical procedures including general, vascular, orthopedic, thoracic, urology, ophthalmology, ENT, and spine surgeries.

Provide anesthetic care for procedures in GI/Endoscopy, lnterventional Radiology, ICU, and Cardiac Cath Lab.

Supervise and teach residents and CRNAs, ensuring compliance with VA policies and ACGME residency requirements.

Participate in quality improvement activities, institutional and departmental committees.

Complete administrative tasks including pre-op notes, progress notes, encounters, and ensure proper documentation in the VA's EHR system (VisWCPRS).

Provide on-call coverage, including weekend and holiday rotations, and respond to emergency cases as required (on-site within 40 minutes if called in).
