\nJOB SUMMARY
\nThe Anesthesia Technician 2 helps Anesthesiologists with routine to complex procedures before, during, and after anesthesia procedures. Prepares, calibrates and verifies proper working order of equipment before procedures. Cleans anesthesia equipment and work area. Stocks anesthesia supplies in Operating Rooms, and satellite anesthesia areas such as GI Lab and Radiology.
\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
\n\nArranges drugs and basic sterile set-up of instrument table with supplies required for anesthesia procedures in Operating Rooms and satellite anesthesia areas.\nEnsures anesthesia cart and supply cabinets contain adequate supplies for procedures.\nHelps Anesthesiologist with procedure by passing supplies, instruments, and lines.\nCleans tables, equipment, and work area in Operating Rooms on completion of each case as assigned.\nAnswers intercom to respond to requests for supplies and drugs from Nurse Anesthetists, Anesthesiologist, and Surgical Teams, and retrieves supplies and drugs from Pharmacist and other supply areas and delivers to Operating Rooms.\nWashes, dries, and prepares for sterilization all non-disposable anesthesia equipment such as laryngoscope, blades, oxygen masks, and humidifiers.\nChecks equipment to ensure working order and report any issues to Biomedical Engineering.\n\nKEY SUCCESS FACTORS
\n\nGeneral knowledge of anesthesiology standards and practices, modalities, therapies, terminology, medications and equipment.\nSkill in preparing operating room for required purposes.\nAbility to react calmly in emergency situations.\nAbility to clean and perform preventive maintenance on equipment.\nMust be able to communicate thoughts clearly; both through speech and in writing.\nRelational skills required to interact effectively with patients and staff.\nMust be able to read, write and follow instructions and flow chart protocols.\nBasic computer skills, including but not limited to: data entry, information security, electronic medical documentation, hand held scanning and email.\n\nBENEFITS

QUALIFICATIONS
\n\n\n\tEDUCATION - H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent\n\tEXPERIENCE - 1 Year of Experience\n\tCERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION\n\t\n\t\tBasic Life Support (BLS): BLS or BLS within 30 days.\n\t\n\t\n
