Job Description

Eurofins PSS is seeking an Analytical Chemist – Mass Spectrometry Specialist to support extractables and leachables (E&L) testing for pharmaceutical manufacturing. This role involves hands-on work with GC-MS, LC-MS, and/or ICP-MS in a GMP-regulated lab, supporting both clinical and commercial testing.

You’ll be responsible for generating and interpreting complex data, troubleshooting instrumentation, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Perform E&L testing using GC-MS, LC-MS, and/or ICP-MS.Follow all relevant protocols, SOPs, and cGxP guidelines.Analyze and interpret complex data; compile results into technical summary documents.Review test results for accuracy and compliance; report any anomalies.Calibrate and verify instruments before use.Troubleshoot instrumentation and lab techniques as needed.Support method validation and continuous improvement efforts.Maintain lab supplies, safety standards, and documentation.Participate in training activities as both a trainee and a trainer.Interact professionally with vendors and cross-functional teams.

QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field with 2+ years of industry experience, or a Master’s degree with any industry experience.Hands-on experience with GC-MS, LC-MS, and/or ICP-MS.Experience working in a GMP-regulated laboratory.Strong skills in data analysis, documentation, and technical writing.Familiarity with electronic laboratory information management systems (LIMS).Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work independently or in a team.Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without restriction or sponsorship.

Additional Details: 

The position is full-time, first shift, Monday-Friday from 8am-4:30pm. Candidates must be flexible to adapt to schedule changes requiring shift changes and/or weekend work, and overtime may be required as needed. Candidates living within a commutable distance of Rensselaer, New York, are encouraged to apply.
