Function Description
The ‘Commercial Data Quality & Data Products Analytics’ Team is part of the Analytics, Investments and Marketing Enablement (AIM) team within Global Commercial Services Marketing, American Express.
AIM team is responsible for targeting, acquiring, engaging, and retaining commercial customers over online and offline channels and delivering world-class analytics, insights and data products for the Global Commercial Services (GCS) business. In this role, you will be challenged with enriching the quality of commercial data elements for usage in targeting and creating world class data products by leveraging machine learning and other advanced methodologies. The person will perform data analysis, strategy, synthesize conclusions, and present insights to drive business outcomes. The position is part of a highly collaborative environment, interacting with and influencing partners across Global Commercial Services.
Responsibilities:
Create and implement analytical solutions on enriching data quality for usage across analytics and targeting.
Create innovative data products encompassing commercial prospect and customer targeting use-cases, to drive profitable acquisition and engagement strategy (few examples of data products include - Product/Channel Propensity, Best Time to Call or Lead Quality Index (LQI), identifying commercial expense categories etc.)
Work with external data vendors to evaluate external data for small businesses incl. signals, inflection points and establish the proof of concept on investing in purchasing the data to improve/enrich commercial targeting.
Collaborate with Decision Science and Capabilities teams to build analytical solutions to improve coverage & accuracy of key data elements which are critical inputs into models and marketing/Sales campaigns.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's Degree or MBA, in a quantitative field (e.g. Finance, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science or Economics)
Excellent SAS/SQL Skills and experience of working with large and unstructured data.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with recommendation systems such as collaborative filtering, k-nearest neighbors, association rules, market basket analysis, SVD (singular value decomposition), and matrix factorization methods
Experience working with very large datasets using Big Data tools and platforms (Hadoop, PIG/HIVE/Mahout)
Strong working knowledge of data mining techniques, including regression analysis, clustering, decision trees, neural networks, SVM (support vector machines)
