Analyst, Prime Brokerage Operations

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Prime Brokerage Operations team as an Analyst. This role has a high volume of interaction via phone and email with clients, the Prime Brokerage Business Unit, and various Operations departments, requiring a high degree of professional communication and understanding of brokerage operations.

What is the opportunity?

As an Analyst in Prime Brokerage Operations, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, interacting with clients, internal stakeholders, and operations teams to resolve issues and improve processes. You will be an integral part of our team, contributing to the delivery of high-quality service and support to our clients. This role will provide you with a unique opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in brokerage operations, risk management, and client service, while working both independently and as a team to support the Canadian Prime Brokerage Business.

What will you do?

Acting as the main point of contact for client inquiries related to account activity, providing timely and professional responses to client questions and concerns.

Investigating and assisting in resolving operationally related issues in client accounts, such as trade settlements, journal errors, and dividend claims

Reviewing client accounts daily to identify and address margin calls, ensuring that clients meet their margin requirements.

Receiving and handling client requests for all account activity, including Securities transfers, Money wires, Restricted legend removal on securities, Voluntary corporate actions & Account reporting

Ensuring that RBC policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to, maintaining the highest standards of compliance and risk management.

Collaborating with internal stakeholders, including the Prime Brokerage Business Unit, Canadian and US Back Office Operations, Risk Management, and Traders to deliver seamless service and support.

Providing exceptional client service and support to our Prime Brokerage clients, responding to their inquiries, and resolving their issues in a timely and professional manner

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of client accounts and transactions, ensuring that all information is properly documented and easily accessible.

Participating in ongoing training and development to stay current with industry trends, regulatory requirements, and RBC policies and procedures.

What do you need to succeed?

Experience requirement : minimum of 2 years of relevant experience

A post-secondary degree in a related field (e.g., business, finance, economics)

A Canadian Securities Course (CSC) designation

Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner.

Technical proficiency in various brokerage back-office operational functions, including Trade Settlements, Corporate Actions & Entitlements

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to analyze and interpret data.

The ability to work effectively with key stakeholders, including Prime Brokerage Clients, Prime Brokerage Business Unit (Front Office and IT), Canadian and US Back Office Operations, Risk Management & Traders

Preferred: CPH, Derivatives Fundamentals Course, or other relevant designations
