Overview Permissions, Copyrights, and Assignment Analyst Build the Future The Permissions, Copyrights, and Assignment Analyst is primarily responsible for the operational support of McGraw Hill’s Permissions, Copyrights, and Assignment processes. The key focus areas are overseeing the protection of McGraw Hill’s Intellectual Property through the timely submission of Copyright Registrations and the fulfillment of Permissions Granting licenses in accordance with MH policies and Standard Operating Procedures. This position will also be responsible for assisting in the drafting of Estate and Literary Assignments How Will You Make an Impact? The Permissions, Copyrights, and Assignment Analyst supports McGraw Hill's operations by managing key intellectual property processes. Primary responsibilities include ensuring timely copyright registrations, processing permission licenses in line with company policies, and assisting with the drafting of estate and literary assignments to protect and maintain McGraw Hill’s Intellectual Property rights. What can you expect from the position: Manage receipt and triaging requests from customers wanting to use McGraw Hill Content. Oversee rights research to ensure that the request can be fulfilled in accordance with MH policies and Standard Operating Procedures. Draft and Execute Permissions Licenses for McGraw Hill Content with appropriate fee based on MH rates schedule. Oversee registration of McGraw Hill products with the U.S. Copyright Office. Do research and collect necessary information to submit registration requests to protect McGraw Hill content. Support the end to end Author Royalty Assignments by preparing supporting documentation for author-initiated requests related to establishing Estates, Trusts, and Assignment of Rights related to the author’s account in accordance with McGraw Hill policies and procedures Support relevant stakeholders with contract search and analysis; collecting and providing documentation associated with Audits and Litigations; and support projects related to Author Royalty contracts. Support documentation and updating of Standard Operating Procedures in accordance with SOP Governance procedures. Support preparation, review, and remediation efforts related to KPI and SLA Reporting. What can you bring to the role: Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred. 2+ years of experience in a related field. Excellent customer service, oral and written communication skills are required as the position has direct contact with McGraw Hill Authors. Position is also required to work in a collaborative environment with portfolio management, finance, and Legal teams in addressing the alignment of product/sales channels with the publishing agreement and the technical considerations for setup in the royalty system. Prior experience of publishing agreements/royalty contracts preferred. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail as well as problem resolution skills. Strong analytical skills are required as the incumbent will have to extract and analyze large volumes of detailed transactional activity for author accounts when investigating inquiries and/or assisting with audits. Strong experience in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Ability to work independently and use initiative. Experience with Permissions and Copyright Registrations and Management of Intellectual Property is preferred. Ability to read, understand and interpret Author Royalty publishing agreements will be ideal. Knowledge and/or experience in Business Law, Legal, Accounting, or Intellectual Property as it relates to copyrights, tax implications, estate settlements, assignment of ownership is a plus.
