Analyst, Operational Accounting

Position Summary
The Analyst, Operational Accounting acts as point of escalation for accounting and administrative billing issues and inquiries. Supports accounting and billing teams to ensure invoices are completed and properly allocated to revenue and/or vendor passthrough streams. Establishes and maintains accounting and billing policies and controls, fiscal controls, preparing financial reports, and safeguarding the organization's assets. Maintains accounting and financial records and reports, including general ledger, financial statements, regulatory and management reports.

What you will do

Support Billing Manager by being first point of escalation and support for accounting and billing direct reports.

Track and monitor completion of accurate monthly invoices, leveraging communication and reporting to ensure monthly metrics are met.

Field accounting and billing inquiries from internal and external stakeholders, resolving these inquiries in a timely fashion.

Provide support for projects, special requests and quarterly audits by providing requested documentation that meets all audit requirements.

Assists in the importing of invoices into the accounting system, preparation of financial statements, variance analysis, and ad-hoc financial reports as required.

Assists with month-end responsibilities including identification and accrual of unbilled invoices.

Analyzes financial data, tracks operational performance, and provides insights to support decision-making and improve operational efficiency.

Performs financial analysis by examining financial statements, reports, and data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.

Prepares and presents financial reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate operational performance to stakeholders, including management, department heads, and executives.

Identifies opportunities to enhance operational accounting and billing processes and procedures.

Collaborates with various departments, such as finance, operations, and management, to gather data, understand business needs, and provide financial insights and recommendations.


Required Qualifications

5+ years of accounting and/or billing experience.

5+ years of Microsoft Excel and Outlook experience.

Strong understanding of accounting and billing concepts.


Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a leadership role.

Customer service experience a plus.

Proactive and self-motivated to compete tasks independently within deadlines.

Strong attention to detail, analytical skills and verbal and written communication skills.

Problem solving, decision making, and teamwork skills.


Education

Associates or higher degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or other closely related field or an equivalent combination of formal education and recent and related experience providing the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to complete all job duties.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$43,888.00 - $102,081.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
