Your new role:
This role is critical to ensuring full compliance with Brazilian direct tax regulations and supporting the company’s local and international operations with accurate tax reporting, analysis, and strategic input. The ideal candidate will bring a solid understanding of corporate income tax (IRPJ/CSLL), transfer pricing, and tax planning in the entertainment and digital media environment.
Your role accountabilities:
Partner with the business to advise on tax implications of new projects, contracts, and revenue models (e.g., streaming, licensing, digital advertising).Maintain up-to-date records and documentation for internal controls and SOX compliance.Support implementation of tax technology and process improvements.Tax Compliance & Tax Reporting:Support monthly, quarterly, and annual tax closings, including tax provisions and deferred tax calculations (CPC 32/IFRS).Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of direct tax returns.Work closely with the accounting and legal departments to support audits and respond to tax authority inquiries.Support with preparation of tax reporting packages, including cash tax planningEnsure accurate recognition of tax provisions and deferred tax assets/liabilitiesEnsure tax account reconciliations are completed and reviewed timelyTax Planning:Analyze and interpret tax legislation and regulatory updates, identifying their impact on business operations.Support implementation of strategies to optimize WBD’s tax position, ensuring compliance with Brazilian tax lawsSupport global tax initiatives or projects including potential implementation to the extent Brazil entities or operations are impactedMonitor legislative and regulatory changes in Brazil and the media industry; assess and advise management on tax impacts WBD’s local operations.Transfer Pricing:Support transfer pricing teamAssist in preparing documentation and calculations for Transfer Pricing compliance.Prepare and/or review of transfer pricing calculation and documentation ensuring compliance with local and international regulationsSupport intercompany pricing strategies along with WBD’s transfer pricing teamTax Litigation:Assist leadership in managing the company’s tax litigation strategy, working closely with legal teams and external advisors to minimize exposures.Qualification & Experiencie:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Law, or a related field.2+ years of experience in tax compliance, tax reporting, or corporate taxation (preferably direct taxes).Strong understanding of Brazilian direct tax legislation, including IAS 12.Knowledge of Transfer Pricing regulations and documentation requirements.Experience with audit processes and SOX compliance.Familiarity with tax software and technology-driven tax solutions.Fluency in English is mandatory. Spanish is a plus.Other nice to have:
