Analyst, Institutional Asset Management (Remote/Flexible Location)
**What You'll Do** As an Analyst in Principal Asset Management’s Institutional team, you will contribute to the team’s engagement with external institutional asset owners and investment consultants, collaborate with Institutional sales, marketing, product development and other investment professionals to maximize the firm’s ability to generate interest across capabilities with consultants by providing analytical support and internal reporting! **You will have an opportunity to:** + Develop internal reporting of the competitive environment through research and review of market intelligence sources (e.g., MMD, findaily, Ignites, FundFire, Mercer Insights, PPIQ, MIM) and industry publications (e.g., P&I) to help identify emerging trends that could impact the firm. + Conduct various types of analytics to discern changing levels of search activity. + Assist the Institutional Sales team Managing Directors and Directors in the coordination with other professionals throughout the organization. (e.g., portfolio managers, product specialists, product managers, business development/sales). + Assist with preparations for meetings, conferences, etc. Share call notes including clients in common across strategies. Contribute to helping ensure that the firm’s interactions and responsiveness to clients is best in class. Assist the team with internal updates / materials for sales calls, boutique meetings, monthly OC reporting, etc. (using Salesforce and other sources). + Assist as necessary with the completion of various requests from prospective clients. Check us out at www.principalam.com! **Who You Are** + Bachelor’s Degree or eight years work experience + Proficient with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word + Financial market and investment knowledge through internships and/or work experience or CFA progression **Skills That Will Help You Stand Out** + FINRA licensing including SIE or equivalent, series 7 and series 63 required within 6 months + Experience using systems and applications/databases (e.g., Salesforce) + Experience using marketing intelligence sources (e.g., MMD, findaily, Ignites, FundFire, Mercer Insights, PPIQ, MIM) + Power BI + Must be able to attend to the day-to-day details while maintaining a strategic, analytical focus on the big picture **Salary Range Information** Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. **Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)** $67500 - $121200 / year **Time Off Program** Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness.
