The CBU Controller is responsible for providing support for all finance & controlling activities for one or more of Customer Account Management (CAM) teams. The position is responsible for assisting the CAM Lead and their staff on all phases of the automotive business: estimating, tracking, and managing the financial results of assigned customer programs through the RFQ, launch, and execution phases. This encompasses an in-production / in-development business typically worth ~$100 – 200 million in annual revenue. The position reports to the Director, CBU Controlling, and requires close collaboration with CAM, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, and other Automotive division stakeholders in North America and globally.What You Will Do
Under the leadership of the department manager, the CBU controller will manage all aspects of the in-development & in-production Automotive business for the CAM’s.In-depth business and financial analysis supporting key commercial terms with the customerDevelopment of business cases for all RFI/RFQ, guiding and incorporating inputs from manufacturing, operations, engineering, procurement, and product delivery; highly prioritize adherence to defined BMS RFQ processEnsure financial commitments including engineering budgets, sales forecasts, variable cost targets, CAPEX, and working capital are achievedSupport sales planning processes: rolling forecast, budget/5-year sales planning, actual to forecast/budget variance tracking & analysisProgram reporting and ad-hoc financial analysis as requiredTrack and monitor reimbursements of engineering expense, product samples, tooling & fixtures, among other topicsCoordinate activities between CBU controlling, SBU controlling, plants, and CAM to accurately forecast & plan sales revenues, margin, price reductions, and engineering amortizationDirect activities of controlling & sales personnel to ensure adherence to revenue recognition control processes, including contract review, pricing/rebate accruals, system price administration, and SOX controls compliance Support senior management with ad hoc and periodic analysis regarding sales & margin trends, profitability, scenario planning, budgeting/forecasting for assigned CAM’sCoordinate support to Harman Treasury department for FX exposure analysis & hedging program as it relates to all CBU programs in production or development globallyOther specialized analysis & reporting tasks will be the responsibility of this position: support of certain month-end closing & reporting topics, coordinating and support of external audit / internal audit and SOX controls, annual budgeting activities.Other special projects as assignedWhat You Need to Be Successful
Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or other business management discipline3-5 years’ experience in Finance or Accounting roleDemonstrated examples/experience in leadership, influencing, business partnering, and collaborationFluent in oral and written EnglishProject management skillsBonus Points if You Have
