What is the opportunity?

Reporting to the Manager of Books, this position plays a key role in developing and executing upon the Client Management Group’s overall strategy and goals within Capital Markets.  

As part of wider Client Management function, this role is primarily responsible for supporting the Book Management Team in the coordination of opening, closing & maintaining trading and settlement records across the various systems within Capital Markets. 

Supporting our data governance and quality controls, as well as actively participating in business and regulatory initiatives that have a significant impact to the firm and our clients.  The role is aimed at interacting with requestors, developing an operational management of data, focused on improving efficiencies, reducing costs whilst also minimizing risk.
    
Working collaboratively with CMG partners, BCS, Risk, IT and Front office businesses partners throughout the bank, to understand their requirements and relevant business processes in order to deliver change and ultimately improve client service.

What will you do?

Maintain Book data in Capital Markets front and back office systems.

Manage requests from multiple business areas; understand end to end process and trade flows.

Be consistent, accurate and efficient in setting up, amending, cancelling and managing requests.

Ensure that all Books are cross referenced into the supporting CMG repositories.

Use appropriate tools and exception management processes to ensure data quality.

Management of data attributes related to regulatory data initiatives.

Proactively escalate issues as they arise and coordinate with the leadership team to ensure that we are able to manage expectations.

Engagement with CMG globally regarding initiatives that relate to Book Management.

Review of BDR to source system reconciliations – perform root cause analysis.

Relationship Management

Work collaboratively with business partners, IT and CMG alike.

Strive to proactively seek out efficiencies in processes.

Proactively escalate issues as they arise and coordinate with the leadership team to ensure that we are able to manage expectations.

Optimize Book Management processes in order to reduce cycle time, manual effort and improve both end user experiences and realize cost savings.

Linking multiple Functions and processes to a common source of data, reducing operational costs associated with maintaining multiple data silos through a single integrated reference point for trade processing and reporting.

Maintain documentation outlining data lineage pertaining to all Book related reference data in order to support the expansion of operational capabilities across Capital Markets, aiding in the prioritization of process and system enhancements.

Projects

Work closely with CMG management and supporting teams, providing input on all initiatives impacting reference data applications and/or expansion of reference data consumption by downstream users in order to meet ongoing and evolving business, risk, and regulatory requirements.

Support delivery of data remediation activities, finding innovative ways to both remediate and implement stronger data quality controls around data environments.

Develop and oversee data quality reporting and ensure senior management is informed of data quality issues and operational risks that are identified as impactful to downstream processes or the business operations.

Maintain documentation outlining data lineage pertaining to all account related reference data in order to support the expansion of operational capabilities across Capital Markets, aiding in the prioritization of process and system enhancements.

Act as a subject matter expert on CMG projects.

What you need to succeed?

Bachelor’s degree

1 – 2 years of prior related experience.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Excellent team working capabilities.

Ability to network and build strong relationships.

Ability to multi-task and quickly adapt to new processes.

Ability to be flexible, innovative, and organized.

Firm understanding of how Capital Markets operates and familiarity with traditional Capital Markets product offerings.

Previous experience of party data management in trading and settlement systems.

Experience of working in a data management function within an Investment Bank.

Strong ability to prioritize under both normal and pressure situations.

MS Office - should be highly proficient, primarily in the use of Excel.

Nice-to-have

Working Knowledge of Sequel and SQL

Working knowledge of regulatory reporting
